Hi Chris,

Looks like Neville's "scoping" paid dividends in just pipping you at the post to be the first Kiwi home. Congratulations on your effort's guys. handshake.gif

I've heard that things weren't all totally sweet with all, cry, but I truly hope you enjoyed yourself, biggrin, that you were looked after well, coffeecup.gif, and that the trip was worthwhile. thumbsup.gif

Cheers

Don

Yes .... delighted with third place.

Sailed one of Ian Gilmour's new Gillies boats with my rigs (Sails by KD) the second competitive outing for the boat. The boat was a joy to sail, perfectly balanced up wind and handled all conditions thrown at it.

With the new rule in place the future looks promising as it gives some certainty to allow builders to see a future.

Well the event has been run and won and the Aussies held off the Kiwi challenge. biggrin

With the full range of sailable conditions on show with all rigs given a workout it was a challenging regatta with great fun, great people and in the end renewed friendships.

We look forward to a return match in Nelson in 2009.

Full results and action photos on the event web site at http://www.rcyachts.net/EC12/

Well it's a practice day for you Kiwi's today.

From what I see of the skippers' list you are up against some stiff opposition, so you'd better get as much practice as you can.biggrin

Best wishes for a successful and enjoyable regatta guys.handshake.gif

Cheers,
Don

Hi Chris,

I will well and truly look forward to any comments you might care to make about your experiences.

I'm hoping you will be able to reaffirm that EC12's are still well and alive in Oz, as they are in NZ and the USA.

Thanks for the comments Chris.

And I do believe nobody will undererstimate you guys from the land of the long white cloud.  You have certainly built yourselves a formidable reputation, irrespective of what you sail.worry.gif

Hey, but there are some pretty damn good Aussies as well, so it should be an interesting championships, although I don't know how I would feel if it was won by a Kiwi, disbelief.gif even though in friendly competitionhandshake.gif.

Take a trip to here - http://www.ec12.co.nz/introduction.htm - and you will see when an old Kiwi boat that sits in my shed now, won the siverware.

Check back in 5 months time and you amy see another one with "the cup" as I warn you now that a bunch of raiders are preparing to cross the ditch in May!

Be warned, be scarred, the Kiwis are coming!!!!!
