RE: 12-Metre Group Newsletter

Don't stress Mr Editor. smile

It is very quiet, which is not unusual, given that we are in the depths of winter, and it might be warm in NSW but down here in VIC it has been damn cold!

Maverick , We are not putting a Newsletter out this month June/July because quite frankly there is not enough going on to do that. Our correspondent Viking has news of a regatta at Tuross Lakes Caravan Park in the current school Hols.  Apart from that there is not much information on 12s around at the moment.

There are information of different things coming up. Along with how to put a A2 together but these are for  future newsletters. There are some good things planed , so state tuned.

 The !2 metre group Editor.smile

12-Metre Group Newsletter - #3 May 2008

OK folks,

My apologies for the delay in getting this month's copy of the newsletter published.

I have already advised of an initial delay to the scheduled publication date of the 20th of the month, due to the ill health of the editor, Steve Crewes, who has now fortunately made what looks to be a full recovery. Good health Steve, and to your mate Hairoil as well. thumbsup.gif

However, there has been another complication. Last weekend my laptop computer died. cry Dang, dong, dead! cry  And the newsletter arrived a couple of days later. Damn!!! ohmygod.gif

I put the computer in for repair but it will not be ready for another two weeks from today. I knew this would be the case as the last repair on a Compaq laptop also took about two weeks, so I bought a new laptop so I could meet my obligations.

But I need to load all my programs back onto the new machine so that will take time, but I have assigned a priority to the programs required to do what needs to be done in order to publish this Number 3 edition of the newsletter as there just does not seem to be any other information about radio yachting available to the public in general coming out of anywhere, least of all the ARYA.

But that is a separate issue.

I hope to get the Newsletter published by midnight tomorrow, thus ensuring all the effort Steve, and the various other contributors have put in, for the May Newsletter to be in fact published in May.

Thank you for your patience. pray.gif

RE: 12-Metre Group Newsletter

Good to hear you are on the road to recovery.

I very much look forward to the next issue. But don't stress, OK!

Thanks Mav, I'm a little better now, thanks. It was the dreaded Peanut Butter that was the culprit! With my condition , I'm  not suppose to have it but I have loved it all my life and I had a couple of large slices of it and WAMO! That was the Wednesday before we were due to go to the Woolongong club for a regatta. Of course I didn't make it and this little episode kept me in bed for almost 6 days.

Any way things are getting back to normal somewhat. We will have the newsletter out soon. We have some interesting stories to tell, some supa photos . Some news on the Nats for the EC12s and other stuff.

I hear Mav, that we are getting quite a few people looking into your Forum / pages for R/C yachting info. That they are not getting elsewhere??

You heard it here firstbiggrin.

Henry

Hi folks,

Due to the ill health of the Editor of the newsletter, it will be delayed until further notice. It has not been cancelled or stopped, and will resume as soon as possible.

But in the meantime, if any readers have something that might make for informative reading about our hobby, please send any articles of interest to me, at maverick@dldirect.net with Newsletter as the subject, so that I might be able to compile them into a little general communication. This would I feel take a bit of pressure off the Editor and thereby hopefully speed up his recovery, so that he can get back into the sling again.

Please remember, your sport is only as good as what you put into it.

Hi Don , Yep thats No 2 . I would just like to remind those that read it that it has got a reduced FONT - BASIC RULES on the end of the newsletter. This is so you can cut it out and put it on you Start Tape or Transmitter cover to remind you of the Basic rules on the water.

What I would also ask of our readers is ; that you PRINT OFF A COPY of this newsletter and give to people in YOUR CLUB , who haven't got a computor . This spreads the info  around , so that everyone benefits.

If your interested send us your photos of what you're doing. This will be FUN

A big vote of thanks should go to Maverick, for providing the space on his page,  without his dedication & committment this would not be possible/

 Henry
