The results on the NSW EC 12 Championships have now been posted on the ARYA website.
Damn good turnout I reckon for a State Championships. The Central Queensland folks had a great turnout for their regional championships as well.
So I need to ask the question. Why is the EC12 not so popular in States other than QLD and NSW?
I am continually confounded by this situation, given the abundance of weed and lack of water problems we have, that create a lack of reasonable sailing venues in Victoria for the IOM's, Marbleheads and 10-Raters, over the last few years.
But in many of the places where the above classes used to sail, and can no longer, the 12-metres would still be able to sail. The 12-metres only need 12 inches, (300mm), of water in which to sail. And if weed in particular is a problem, sail the EC12 instead of the A2.
So what is holding back the acceptance of the 12-metre's in Victoria?
