This particular topic/thread has now been closed as it was only intended to be a lead-in to discussion on Micro-Magic's.

A new topic has been created below to facilitate that process.

The only thing you didn't mention , is what I had for breakfast!!

Somebody who I was talking to lately , spoke of these boats as being in the era of 2008 and the future. I didn't think of it like that before but it is a really good point of view. And yes it does have that effect on one. For a whole different approach on R/C yachting.

Its going to be an interesting experience............................

Thr abbreviated comments below, copied from the Victor Products Aussie II forum are what prompted the establishment of this forum. But please remember, wherever possible please post on the official Micro Magic Forum located at http://www.aus.micromagic.info/news.php. The fully formatted text can be read in the Building an AussieII in NSW Forum

Copied text.

You know Mav how these builds go . I spoke to Hairoil this morning about Lil Aussie 11 and he has put the undercoat and one top coat and he doesn't like the top coat. The paint colour is9of all things) hammer beaten gun blue! Anyway it has all these little air bits in the paint (it is ment to be there) anyway he says he doesn't like it and wants something else . I recommended RED first up but HO is not that groovy and settled for blue. So the colour of the boat is up in the air at the moment.

I just slipped into him a suggestion that he might like to start on a Micro Magic soon.

Well, the colour of the boat can always be played with.

Oooh, ahhhhh. Are you serious about the Micro Magic comment?

Yeah , I've got one right here.

I'm just waiting for HO to finish the victor Aussie 11, so he can start on a Micro Magic. I got it Registed into his name this morning under the Ancient Mariners Club in Sydney. As I said , we saw one at our pond a couple of weeks ago and really like the way it went.

I know it is not one of your , um um um 12 metre boats but it is of some interest to young and old and perhaps a learner class of sorts. To lead one to a real boat like Victors Aussie 11??

I must tell you Maverick that we in Sydney have also an inner suburb called Burwood. In the Main street of Burwood is this really largish pond in the park About 50 yards long by 20 yards wide that most people have not seen for it is above eye level or should I say this park is above eye level when your driving past.

Now , this would make an ideal boat for this pond as a sort of bringing R/C yachting to the masses. I have vissions of selling heaps of these boats.Literally thousands, we could sell of them and not try to hard either. This is the class that is going to sweep the world. Anyone who is remotely (squse the pun) interested in these little boats in Sydney give me a call.

I agree with the promotional aspects. They already sail in about 15 countries. The link in my previous post leads you to all sorts of great information.

I haven't put a specific Micro Magic (MM) Forum here because the link above is a central MM link for Australia and I reckon that basically, it is a good idea to post and visit there, so that information does not get fragmented. Hey, you might even find a few posts from me there, if you are lucky.

But if for whatever reason you still want to talk about them or other things here, the General Discussion Forum is highly recommended.

Chuckle.... chuckle......, had to have a smile at your comment.

I must confess, I too have sometimes had a bit of difficulty navigating the MM site, but am getting used to it. Once I get to the page I want to start from, I go to whatever topic I want to and when finished I just click on my browser's "Back" button to take me back to my start page. Seems a bit easier than alternatives.

But you have a point. And if it means I guess, if people are not comfortable with the structure of the MM forum's, them I could create a forum topic for use by these folks, and others, rather than not have them contribute at all. But that would be on the understanding that I would be able to put links to these posts on the MM forum.

Whaddaya reckon?

Well as you know when you start talking about links etc and all that "jazz" you have lost me! But if you have given anybody an undertaking for instance, etc I understand.

But there is something you should also consider, that we are all mates together , here. We in this case are sharing a similar boat (MM) and there are our other individual mates who we see only every now and again , that want to keep up with what we are doing in other areas of our R/C yachting?

I have a passing interest in this class (I bought a MM) Hairoil gets the fun of building it and I have registed it in his name. This is what mates do! Now he is chuffed. I on the other hand get to have a happy Pardner to sail with and to share the experience of building this boat together, with the aim of getting another one as well. We had a pleasant discussion today under a tree at the Lake about where we could sail a MM and HO thoughts were illuminating. We could sail them at Scarborough Park but, meaning, where else if needs be?

Since we did that a couple more people have mentioned to me that they are building them too. And I pre-suppose that they read what we(You & I) have been talking about. And Hey Mav, lets turn this into boats on the water.

  #Victors Aussie11#
Now We went out and sailed the victor Aussie 11 today. When I arrived at the Lake, Hairoil come up with his version called "Roo-barb" (I told you it was a vegetable??). It was painted in a blue colour and as you said it just took off from the launching wharf. It went up and down ,it beated, ran beautifully and tracked perfectly. Reccomend it to anyone.

However after building this boat there is a couple of things that don't sit well here. One is that I first ordered 2 boats and Hairoils got his on the water. Mine , however is still somewhere OUT THERE?? I've waited patiently 5 months there abouts and still no boat. Now the people who I ordered from have kept me informed but 5 months wait is too long and the wait is not acceptable, it will take years to get a fleet of 6 boats at this rate and we have to just say good bye to it for there are other boats in easy reach namely Micro  Magics. I can get a boat (MM) of RYS in Brisbane in less than 24 hours (great service MAL).

So Maverick , how about it, how about a MM page? This is what I reckon.

This forum has been reluctantly established as a result of requests, well request, to provide another place to make comments for those persons unable, or not wanting to, for whatever reason, to use the official forum located at http://www.aus.micromagic.info/news.php

The word "reluctantly" has been used because I feel that comments wherever possible should be made on the official forum to prevent fragmentation of posts all over the place, and to make that official forum the reference point for all things Micro Magic in Australia.

But if the alternative to using the official forum is not to make any comment at all, then hopefully this might be the place where positive comments can be made, rather than none at all, in order to promote this great boat.

And this forum is meant to complement the work done by Malcolm Kampe from Radio Yacht Supplies Australia in having the foresight to get this boat well and truly off the ground and up and running in Australia, and to initiate the International link to other Micro Magic sites around the world. And not to forget Float-a-Boat who also sell this great boat.
