Thank you Viking and to my dear friend Steve Crewes for these comments.

These boats I would totally support for they don't need the deep waters that the freakish new Marbleheads require.

Our continent is a dry one, despite rising sea levels due to global warming. And I personally see a future for boats of all classes provided they have shallow draughts. Let's say maximums of 300 - 400 mm.

And I know we all have out own preferences, but I must confess that I personally have an extreme distaste for swing rigs.
God, if anybody is going to sail tbe vintage Marbleheads, please let them sail under tbe conditions tney were designed for!

But I would never let my personal preferences rise above the general promotion of this sport.

And if the populace wanted swing rigs, so be it, but if I was running the survey, I would require every registered member to vote.

None of this Crap about the 5 interested members deciding what was best for everybody, for the other 300 members who seem to be happy in their sloth, which seems to be the current modues operandi!

In summary, I have to say, that I am totally in agreement with Steve, and totally in favour of his promotion of the vintage boats.

I have always said, that I believe the ARYA do an excellent job regarding the international classes, because the work of their technical committee has always been done for them, by the international bodies.

G'Day Henry & Viking

Good to see youre still collecting those old M's.

I have asked everyone at APMYC to find old boats to restore and create a fleet of club boats for new members. I am also getting some intertest in Vintage M & 10's as the dreaded weed problem at AP limits us to IOM's & MM's at present.

I feel the best way to generate interest in Vintage is to get a fleet of old boats like you guys have and get them on the water. Maybe look at flopping a few glass hulls off a good design so more can be built up too.

Keep up the good work & I will keep the banner for Vintage boats flying here in Vic.

Cheers

Try Viking shipping?

' Bewitched' is taking shape at Viking place. I'll will be doing them once I have them in workshop.
